Heritage, community, and a whole lot of pickleball.
On 10 October 2026, we’re bringing new life to a building that holds a real place in Australian military history, right here within North Head Sanctuary.
Our three premium indoor courts sit inside Building 17: a 1930s Art Deco gymnasium built for the Australian Army. For half a century, this was home to the School of Artillery. Soldiers ran their drills on these floors, played their sport here, blew off steam here. Then in 1998 the army moved on, and the hall fell quiet.
So when you play here, you’re playing on the very same floor where generations of Australian soldiers once trained. We think that’s pretty special: a building made for sport, coming full circle to being a building made for sport once more.
On 10 October, Building 17 comes back to life.

Welcome to Love Pickle Club!
The venue sits inside the historic North Head precinct and can be a little tricky to find on your first visit, so here are a few tips:
1. From Scenic Drive, turn onto North Fort Road (look for the Love Pickle, WOTSO, or Artist Precinct signs).
2. Drive about 300m up the road and park to the right in the designated parking areas.
3. Follow the pathway next to the art gallery "big head" statue — that leads you to us.
See you on court!
No. You’ll be able to book a court by the hour, join a social session or take a clinic without any membership. Paddle hire is available.
Eleven tournament-grade courts in total: three indoor courts and eight floodlit outdoor courts.
Absolutely. We run beginner-friendly Intro Sessions and social play, with coaching for every level.
Casual court hire runs at peak and off-peak rates from $30/hour, with social sessions and clinics priced per session.
Memberships will launch once Stage 2 of the venue is complete (Dec 2026 / Jan 2027).
In the meantime (Stage 1), you don't need a membership to play — you can:
•Hire courts by the hour
•Join our leagues
•Enter our tournaments
When Stage 2 opens, we'll introduce three membership tiers:
•Social — best for casual/occasional players
•Casual — best for regular players wanting flexibility
•Club — best for committed players who want the most court time / benefits
We'll also offer a Founder "100" Club — a limited tier capped at just 100 members, with exclusive perks for our earliest supporters.
